just started learning SAP BI recently.
have worked only on 7.0
Q1) need help in finding the differences between these three versions of SAP BI ?
found out these things , pls add to this list
3.x
1. infopkg loads till target [eg cube]
2. while creating transfer rules, mentioning target and src wasnt necessary
3.authorization: roles concept
7.0
1.infopkg loads only till PSA, we need to load it further via DTP.
2. while creating transformations, mandatory to mention src and target
3. authorization: analysis authorization
7.3
has a migration tool to aid in the migration process , which wasnt there in earlier versions and had to be done manually for each object
Q2) why would someone need to go ahead for the migration, when things are working fine?
found out these, pls add to this list
1. to avail the new features available in the next version
2.SAP will not provide any support if any issues arise if migration not done.
